Workshops/Masterclasses
Papadon has been presenting blues Music classes since 1997 to young people in Northern New York. Now he would like to share his experience with you.
Motivation
As an experienced music educator, Papadon knows how to engage students in the learning process. You will not want the lesson to end!
Understanding history, culture and concept
Papadon is one of very few music educators who possesses both empirical knowledge of African-American traditional music and formal training in music and education. In other words, he is able to bridge the gap between those you live the blues and those who want to learn about the blues.
Singing
Papadon has been singing since the age of four. He grew up singing gospel music, while taking formal lessons as a teanager. Washington is a NYS certified vocal music teacher. Papadon is happy to lead your vocal ensemble in an exploration in vocal expression.
Instruments
Papadon offers jazz band workshops that cover topics such as call and response arranging, inprovisation, and finding "your voice" in your instruments.
Piano workshops to cover left- handed boogie-woogie patterns, improvisation and chording/comping techniques
Rhythm section workout is a workshop, especially for the bassist, drummer, pianist and guitarist in any ensemble. Papadon plays all of the above instruments and will help young musicians understand the important role they have in driving the music into the hearts of listeners.
Creativity
Treat your blues society, music classes, ELA students or even yourself to a song writing session. Many people would like to create a song but are afraid to take the first and most difficult steps. Papadon will lead you through a few preparatory exercises and then set you on the path to song writing.
